Standard of "36* abyss" means amber can do it, remember enviosity? i just dont think this is a good way to address character strength to a new player especially where childe, keqing, cyno, xiao, itto, wanderer, tighnari, and the entire S tier are primarily dpses that are competitive with and oftentimes superior to SSS tier characters. Despite western TCs and quite a few on Reddit preaching how strong they are, and they are strong, those two don't get used very much by players at end game. Two interesting points of divergence are Fischl and Sucrose. The one from yshelper is based on 100k plus accounts and is probably the best for that. Right now the best proxy for that is 36 star spiral abyss usage rates over time (to even out for metas Hoyo wants to push to sell banner units). I prefer the second approach to tiering for character strength however, which is, if you have everything who would you play to beat the end game as quickly and consistently as possible? Who's the next pull that will impact the account most? Arguably Yelan to take Barbara's place, then maybe Raiden to take Sucrose place, and so on. You can then expand the approach with, ok we start with those eight. But no, not all units above are better than five stars. So does this mean all five stara should be below the above since you don't need them, yet they are more expensive? (Tho Xiangling needs C4 so she's actually not that cheap, depending on RNG.) The problem with the former and which you hinted at is that, in reality, you can 36 star spiral abyss with just four stars. There are two common approaches to character tiers: what characters are best to pull if you are new, and what characters you would play in end game if you have them all. You're not taking into account that a new player doesn't have the rooster for a proper full team and doesn't have the ER to guarantee meta rotations. Your tier list seems like a meta tier list, not a new player tier list. Nahida: on her own she isn't much strong, I'd put her on A Zhongli: for a new player he's definitely SSS nevermind, Nilou good, I forgot about the free Collei for her team Nilou: similarly to Furina, a new player doesn't have 2 dendro + 2 hydro to make use of Nilou, i'd put her one tier below at least. Her kit is more complex AND you need a built full team healer before you can make full use of her and negate her downsides, which a new player doesn't have. For a phone player it's a different story.ĭiona: Simple to use shielders and healers are better for a new player than outright meta charactersįurina: she's SSS in general, but she's the exact opposite for new players. Ganyu: Why so low? She's completely self sufficient and doesn't rely on burst. Keeping in mind that your title specifically says " to a new player"įischl: I'd put Fischl on S, she's by far definitely more Xiangling tier than Sucrose tier, and unlike Xiangling you don't need a proper build/team with good ER to make full use of her. She’s easy to play, easy to build, needs no talent upgrade, and overall a minimum investment for maximum value character. And in that sense I truly believe Kuki is the single best character in the game for that purpose. The point of helping early game player is that you give them a baseline team to help them get through all the content in the game, so that they can farm for and build the character thay they like. You don’t need to funnel energy, you don’t need to do double swirl set up, you don’t need to pass ttds buff, you don’t even need to care what character trigger what reaction and still pretty much do the same amount of damage. It is also pretty braindead to play since you can do literally whatever rotation you feel like and it will still give you the same amount of damage. Hyperbloom is so absurdly powerful with such little investment in the fact that you only need to level up the hyperbloom triggered to get pretty much the full damage value of the reaction. However ever since the introduction of dendro and hyperbloom, this is no longer the case. The thing about national is that they were the original low profile savior as you said. Artifact farming is not considered high investment since you can transfer artifact between characters. He is high investment because you actually need to upgrade his talent + your actual dps talent to get value.
